Policy Scope Notice: This document applies exclusively to Dawent’s Google Workspace Apps and related services. It does not govern any other Dawent products or service lines. For legal terms applicable to other offerings, please refer to our Legal Overview.
Effective Date: May 23, 2024
We do not sell, share, rent, or exchange your personal information with anyone else. Any data we collect is used solely to provide, operate, and support the core functionality of our Google Workspace apps, as explicitly requested by the user.
At Dawent ("We," "Us," "Our"), we are committed to safeguarding your ("You," "Your," or "User") privacy and protecting your personal information with the utmost seriousness. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of your information when using our apps, which may include Google Workspace add-ons, web applications, or any other related services we may provide.
For the purpose of this document, "Google Workspace Services" refer to the suite of productivity and collaboration tools provided by Google LLC ("Google"), as defined and updated by Google from time to time.
Dawent licenses access to proprietary apps designed to extend or enhance Google Workspace. These apps serve as supplemental tools to Google’s core services and do not replace or replicate their core functionality. Dawent does not offer standalone service delivery but instead provides licensed access to tools that interoperate with Google Workspace, subject to Google’s platform permissions and policies.
Google Sign-In: We collect limited personal data through Google Sign-In solely for authentication purposes. This may include your name and email address, which are used exclusively to pre-fill details during the license subscription checkout process via third-party payment processors, as outlined in the relevant clause. This data is not retained unless you proceed with the license subscription process.
License Upgrade: If you choose to purchase a premium license, we collect specific data, including your licensing email and billing email. The information obtained during the Google Sign-In process is used to pre-fill these fields. However, you have the option to override the pre-filled details by providing different email addresses. This information is used solely for generating user licenses, issuing payment receipts, and communicating product updates.
This collected data is securely stored within the Dawent Google Workspace account. The Google Cloud Project supporting our apps is owned by Dawent.com and co-owned by a Google account for development and testing purposes. Both accounts are fully owned and managed by Dawent to ensure security and compliance.
Payment Processing: After providing the required licensing information, you will have the option to select a third-party payment processor of your choice to complete the payment. Dawent does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. All payment data is processed and stored in accordance with the policies of the respective payment processor.
Payment processing is subject to Dawent's Refund and Cancellation Policy. Refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks are handled by the payment processor according to their respective terms and conditions, as well as Dawent’s policies. Dawent is not responsible for resolving any payment disputes once payments have been processed by the third-party payment processor.
We automatically collect certain non-personal statistical information through Google Cloud Logging, which allows us to store data for no more than 30 days, search, analyze, monitor, and alert on logging data and application-related error logs solely to diagnose technical issues, prevent abuse, and ensure reliable operation of the apps’ intended features. We implement encryption both in transit and at rest to ensure the security of the data during storage and transmission. Access to this logged data is restricted to authorized personnel only, and we enforce strict access controls to prevent unauthorized access. Where applicable, we anonymize or pseudonymize any logged data, particularly if it relates to user activity, to minimize privacy risks. This information is never shared with third parties and is handled in accordance with the highest industry standards for data protection.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website is hosted on Google Sites and Firebase™ Hosting, which may set cookies to enhance your browsing experience. We use Google Analytics only on our public marketing website, not within Google Workspace add-ons, to understand general website traffic trends. This data does not include Google Workspace user content or data accessed via Google APIs. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain website features.
Google Sites provides a built-in cookie notice, allowing you to Accept or Reject cookies as needed. For more details, refer to Google’s Cookie Policy.
We take the protection of your data seriously. Our apps use the Google OAuth 2.0 protocol for authentication, ensuring that you do not need to disclose your login credentials to us. OAuth enables secure access to your data as necessary for the operation of the apps, with all data remaining within your Google account. When you install our apps, you will be prompted to authorize specific permissions that are clearly presented to you during the installation process. These permissions may include access to basic account information (such as your name and email address) to facilitate a smooth and secure sign-in process.
We do not store any of your account data on our servers. All app settings and user data are stored exclusively within your Google account, with no extraction or transmission to external servers or third-party services. Under no circumstances is your data used for advertising, included in AI/ML models, or shared with third parties, except as outlined in the Third-Party Integrations clause below. We strongly encourage you to review the permissions carefully before granting access to ensure that you understand the scope of data we are able to access, and we only request what is necessary to operate the apps.
We implement industry-standard security practices to protect User Personal Information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction, maintain data accuracy, and ensure appropriate use. We use encryption for data transmission and enforce strict access controls to safeguard your information. However, while we follow best practices to secure your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Access to Google user data is strictly limited to the minimum scopes required to perform the user-requested features of the app. No Google user data is used for advertising, profiling, product analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the app’s core functionality.
We may send you app-related communications, including notifications about maintenance, billing, authorization status, or other matters that affect the operation of our apps. Additionally, the payment processors we work with may notify you via email regarding upcoming license subscription renewals, cancellations, or modifications.
When you contact us via email at support@dawent.com or through our website contact form, you grant us permission to use the information you voluntarily provide to respond to and resolve the issue you are experiencing. This may include problem descriptions, screenshots, and limited diagnostic information necessary for troubleshooting. Any debugging or error information collected via Google Cloud Logging is used solely to diagnose technical issues and ensure reliable operation of the apps’ intended features.
We do not use Google Workspace user data, Google API data, or any content accessed via OAuth scopes (including form responses, contacts, emails, or files) to train, improve, or develop generalized artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) models.
If internal automation or tooling is used to assist customer support workflows, it relies only on manually submitted support communications and explicitly excludes Google Workspace content, Google user data, and any data accessed through Google APIs.
Your information is securely stored within our Google Workspace account and is used exclusively to provide support, resolve issues, and operate the apps as requested by the user. We do not sell, share, or disclose this information to third parties, except as explicitly described in this Privacy Policy.
You may request to delete or deactivate your license data if your personal information changes or if you no longer wish to use our apps. This can be done by uninstalling the relevant Google Workspace app or by contacting us directly. We will respond to such requests within seven (7) business days.
Dawent does not store or retain Google user content obtained through Google Workspace APIs. Any access to Google user data is performed in real time and remains within the user’s Google Workspace account.
Limited non-content data, such as a user’s email address and license status, may be stored solely for authentication, licensing, billing, customer support, and proof of entitlement. This data is retained only for the duration of the active licensing or support relationship with Dawent.
Users may request deletion or deactivation of this data at any time by uninstalling the application or contacting support@dawent.com. Requested data will be deleted within seven (7) business days, unless retention is required by law.
We do not sell, lease, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties, except as outlined in the Third-Party Services section. The information we collect is used exclusively to deliver the apps you have explicitly requested and to operate our apps effectively.
We do not use any user data — including data obtained via Google Workspace APIs — to develop, train, or improve generalized artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) models. All data access and usage are strictly limited to the functionality necessary to support our apps and are handled in accordance with our commitment to user privacy and data protection.
We use third-party payment processors, such as PayPal, Stripe, and Razorpay, to process payments for our apps. We also use Google Chat/Email services to assist you with any questions regarding our website or your order. Please note that we neither store nor have access to your credit card details. Your use of these third-party services is governed by the legal terms, privacy policies, and practices of those providers. By interacting with these services, you acknowledge and agree to abide by their respective terms of service and privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them carefully. We do not control or manage the privacy practices or legal obligations of these third parties, and we are not responsible for any actions or omissions by them in relation to your data.
Dawent apps are built to operate on Google Workspace and rely on Google Workspace Services as the underlying platform. These services are provided by Google LLC and support authentication, authorization, storage, and execution of app functionality through Google Workspace APIs.
Google Workspace Services are not third-party services for the purposes of this Privacy Policy. All access to Google Workspace data is governed by Google’s platform permissions, security controls, and privacy policies, and is limited to the minimum scopes required to perform the user-requested functionality of the apps.
Some Dawent apps for Google Workspace are designed to integrate directly with third-party services as part of their core functionality. These integrations occur only when explicitly configured and authorized by the user and are limited to the specific purposes described for each app.
The third-party services that Dawent apps may integrate with include, but are not limited to:
ClickSend, MessageBird, Telesign, Textlocal, Twilio – SMS and notification services.
BL.INK, T.LY – URL shortening and link management services.
Klaviyo, Brevo, Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), HubSpot (HubSpot, Inc.), Cyberimpact – Marketing and CRM integrations.
QuickBooks (Intuit Inc.) – Accounting, invoicing, and billing services.
PayPal (PayPal Holdings, Inc.) and Stripe (Stripe, Inc.) – Payment, invoicing, and financial reporting services.
Integration with these services requires the user to provide their own API keys, tokens, or OAuth authorization for the respective third-party service. Dawent does not initiate or enable third-party data sharing without explicit user action.
When a user connects a third-party service, data may be transmitted directly from the user’s Google Workspace environment to the selected third-party service solely to perform the user-requested app functionality. Any such data processing is governed by the privacy policies and terms of service of the respective third-party providers.
Dawent does not control, monitor, or manage the data handling practices of these third parties and is not responsible for their actions or omissions. By authorizing a third-party integration, you acknowledge and agree to the applicable third-party privacy policies and terms.
We strongly encourage users to review the privacy policies of all third-party services before authorizing any integration.
Dawent apps for Google Workspace may be used in K–12 educational environments under the supervision of schools or educational institutions, or by individual child users with parental or guardian oversight. Use of our apps is permitted for children under 13 years of age only when access is granted and managed by a parent, legal guardian, or a school authority acting on behalf of parents, in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Dawent does not collect or store any personal information from child users beyond the limited licensing data described in the Data Collection & Use clause. No identifiable content from users’ files or Google Workspace activity is accessed, stored, or analyzed by Dawent. The apps operate entirely within the permissions framework of Google Workspace, and any data access is strictly limited to the functionality required to provide the apps.
Before granting access to children, schools and parents are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements and for obtaining any necessary parental consents. By installing and using the apps in environments involving children, supervising adults agree to these responsibilities and to Dawent’s legal policies.
Some features may optionally involve third-party integrations, as described in the Third-Party Integrations clause of this Privacy Policy. By using such features, schools and parents acknowledge that relevant data may be processed by external parties and agree to the privacy policies of those apps.
Licenses for child users must be procured and managed by parents or school officials. Children under the age of 13 may not purchase, manage, or activate licenses independently. Dawent does not market directly to children or provide access to license management interfaces for underage users.
For any concerns regarding child-related data, or to request the removal of any inadvertently submitted information, please contact us at support@dawent.com.
In the event that Dawent undergoes a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its assets, user data may be among the assets transferred to the acquiring entity. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information remains protected and handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
If such a transition occurs, we will notify you via email or through a notice on our website before any changes take effect. You will have the option to review any updates to the Privacy Policy and, if necessary, request data deletion in accordance with our Data Changes and License Deactivation clause.
We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law, such as in response to subpoenas, bankruptcy proceedings, or other legal processes. The only personal information we collect, as outlined in the Data Collection and Use - License Upgrade clause (e.g., email address, name, contact details, and address), is the information we may share under such circumstances. Additionally, we may disclose any communication or interaction information you have provided to us if we believe such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, the safety of others, investigate fraud, or comply with legal proceedings, court orders, or legal processes served on our website.
If legal authorities request your personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of the request, unless prohibited by law or if such disclosure would hinder an investigation.
We license our apps with a commercially reasonable level of skill and care and hope you find them valuable and effective when used with Google Workspace. However, we do not make any guarantees regarding the performance or results of using our apps. They are provided on an “as is” basis.
We make no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaim and negate all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. In no event shall Dawent be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use our apps.
You are notified while using the app via a banner notification or through a notification on the website. We may update our privacy policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by email (sent to the email address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on our website when the change becomes effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
