Sheet to Slide Merge Help
Overview
The Sheet to Slide Merge add-on allows you to merge data from Google Sheets into Google Slides. It offers two primary options:
Create Separate Presentations: Generates individual presentation files for each row of data, using the provided template. Ideal for separate reports or decks for each entry.
Combine into a Single Presentation: Combines all rows into one presentation file, with each row generating a new set of slides from the template. Perfect for a unified overview with sections for each row.
Setup Instructions
1. Select Data Source
Choose the sheet from the current Google Sheets file that contains the data you want to merge.
2. Specify Header Row
Select the row in your sheet that contains the column names. It is the top row of a spreadsheet that contains labels or titles for each column, helping to identify the data in the rows below.
3. Image Replacement Options (Optional)
Do you have images to replace during the merge?
No: Skip the below mentioned Image Placeholder Instructions options and go to Step 4. Choose Slide Template mentioned below.
Yes: Follow the instructions for adding image placeholders in your slide template.
Image Placeholder Instructions
To add image placeholders to your slide template:
Step A: Prepare Your Template Slide - Ensure your slide template is set up and ready for image placeholders.
Step B: Insert Placeholders - Follow the video instructions for adding image placeholders to your slide template.
3.1 Image URL
Add an Image URL field where the image will be inserted. The data in this field can be:
Web URL: Should point to an image that is directly accessible and downloadable. For example:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9f/Ara_macao_-Fort_Worth_Zoo-8.jpgGoogle Drive Image URL: Ensure the sharing settings are set to "Anyone with the Link can View". Drive link parameters can be in any of the following formats:

Note: Images must be less than 50MB in size, cannot exceed 25 megapixels, and must be in PNG, JPEG, or GIF format.
3.2 Title Field (Optional)
Add a Title field if needed. This field provides the image’s alt text title, which is accessible by screen readers for individuals with visual impairments.
3.3 Scaling Options
Scale & Center: Adjusts the image to fit within the placeholder, scaling and centering it as needed.
Crop: Crops the image to match the size of the placeholder.
3.4 Delete
Remove the placeholder if image replacement is not required.
4. Choose Slide Template
Select the template to use for the slides.
5. Select Destination Folder
Choose the folder where the generated presentation files will be saved.
6. Filename
Choose markers from the dropdown menu to build your filename. You can use sheet header fields for dynamic data replacement or system markers. Combine these markers with a custom filename if needed.
Alternatively, you can directly enter a desired filename, bypassing the use of markers.

7. Select File Type
Choose the file type for the output:
PDF
